Grants Specialist

The Grants Specialist works with the CEO/Executive Director to raise money and develop relationships with donors, grant-making entities, the general public, vendors and other constituents.  This position manages all aspects of the grant cycle and supports fundraising appeals and events.

Typically works from home with occasional work at the office.

Responsibilities:

Track grant application deadlines and submit grant applications on time with all supporting documentation. Have a thorough knowledge of grant and contract requirements to ensure compliance by TIB programs and staff. Attend meetings related to grants and donations. Track and meet grant application and grant usage report deadlines. Research new funding and partnering opportunities with local donors, companies and foundations. Help with events that raise awareness and funds for The INN Between as needed. Attend board and staff meetings as needed, and provide reports as requested. Cultivate new donors through personal contact, attending outreach and networking events, and other means. Steward donor relationships through personal contact, emails, phone calls, meetings and other means. Enter data into Little Green Light, the donor management database, on a consistent basis and learn how to utilize the database features and reporting. Have a vehicle and be available to attend events and drop off and pick up grants, donations and other items as needed. Help the CEO/Executive Director with other policy/procedure development as directed. Maintain client and donor confidentiality at all times.

Skills Required:

Excellent spelling and grammar. Knowledge of grant writing. Experience with CDBG and other government grants. Ability to communicate and interact effectively with a variety of constituents including co-workers, board members, volunteers, community members, clients and funders. Good command of computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Publisher, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, and basic database use. A valid Utah Driver’s License and clean driving record. Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug test. Home office space with a printer and computer system that will integrate with that of TIB, if working from home.
