Executive Director
Jillian Olmsted’s journey with The INN Between is both personal and purposeful. As a mother of two and a proud military spouse, Jillian has been married for 24 years. Her husband retired after 21 years of service, a journey that deepened her resilience and commitment to service. Her connection to the mission was shaped by her own family’s experiences with cancer—within a single year, her mother, father, and stepfather each faced the disease. Two parents required hospice care before their passing, and Jillian personally cared for her father as he underwent treatment at Huntsman Cancer Hospital while uninsured, unable to work, and potentially facing homelessness. These experiences gave her a profound appreciation for the dignity and comfort that hospice and respite care provide.
Jillian first joined The INN Between as a volunteer, quickly demonstrating her passion and leadership. She was soon hired as the Events and Outreach Coordinator, later advancing to Operations and Human Resources Director where she oversaw facility management, event coordination, IT systems, and organizational operations. In 2022, she was appointed Executive Director, where she continues to guide the organization’s growth and impact with vision and dedication.
Beyond her work at The INN Between, Jillian is a sought-after speaker and advocate. She has been featured on numerous podcasts, presented at national conferences, and shared her expertise internationally—bringing attention to the critical need for hospice and respite care for people experiencing homelessness.
Committed to professional excellence, Jillian holds a Professional Management Certificate from the University of Utah and has completed all nine organizational credentials through the Utah Nonprofits Association earning The INN Between an organizational award. She brings both lived experience and professional expertise to her leadership, ensuring The INN Between remains a place of compassion, dignity, and healing for the community’s most vulnerable.
