Staff and Board
Our core values - compassion, community, dignity, and respect – underpin everything we do at The INN Between. In our eight years of operation, The INN Between has provided dignity for over 135 residents who experienced the end of life housed, not homeless. Additionally, we have cared for more than 650 individuals, offering them a safe place to recover with compassion and respect. It is humbling to witness residents exiting hospice and regaining productivity and self-sufficiency due to access to a stable environment and support of our community.
The board, staff, and volunteers of The INN Between are committed to upholding these core values:
COMMUNITY. The community that surrounds and supports The INN Between has the same shared vision - ending the needless deaths and suffering alone on the streets of our community.
DIGNITY. Every individual deserves the right to be valued and respected, treated ethically with compassion and empathy and to be treated with humanity and dignity. At The INN Between, dignity means that human life should be values and that no human should suffer or die alone on the streets.
RESPECT. Too often, our residents are treated with a lack of respect merely because they live without a roof over their heads. At The INN Between we prioritize respect for residents’ pasts, traumas, circumstances, and aspirations for the future. Respect allows residents to feel valued and heard and with that trust, they can heal peacefully, or they can experience the end of life with dignity and without judgement.
COMPASSION. Love, kindness, caring, and compassion are at the heart of everything we do. Through compassionate care, individuals are given the opportunity to thrive and the option for hope comes alive. We believe all humans deserve compassion, including shelter, food, healthcare, and a surrogate family, especially in their greatest time of need.
