SECRETARY
Jennifer Toomer-Cook is a communications professional who is committed to supporting, inspiring and empowering people though her craft.
Jen has worked for Intermountain Healthcare’s marketing and communications team since December 2015, overseeing media relations for Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital, Intermountain Children’s Health, and Intermountain Foundation. She worked as Chief External Communications Officer for Canyons School District from 2008-2015, and was part of the team hired to lead the startup of Utah’s first new school district in 100 years. She also worked 13 years as a journalist, primarily at the Deseret News in Salt Lake City, and was part of the initial newsroom convergence team with Deseret News, KSL NewsRadio and KSL-TV, starting in 2000.
Jen earned a Master of Professional Communication degree from Weber State University and was honored as the program’s Outstanding Graduate in 2015. She earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in English and Communication from the University of Utah, and was the Outstanding Graduate in Journalism in 1995.
Jen has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Public Relations Society of America-Utah chapter since 2020, and as a member of the J.E.Cosgriff Memorial Catholic School Board from 2015-2021.
Jen was blessed to be a professional dancer, teacher and choreographer for 18 years, and loves her dance sisters and the name “coach,” second only to the name, “mom.” She loves people, the outdoors, traveling, cheering for Utah football (go Utes!) and spending time with her wonderful husband, daughters, and bonus grandchildren.
