Alberto, or “Beto” as he was known to his family, died peacefully on Sunday, April 24, 2016, at The INN Between. He was 53 years old. Beto was born on March 25, 1963 in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico. He was one of seven children born to Graciela Silva and Alberto Baez, who proceeded him in death. His brothers are Roberto, Ricardo and Jesus, and his sisters are Dora, Drina and Graciela.
Beto is survived by ten children, including Angela and Juan Silva, fourteen grandchildren, with another grandson expected in July, and his loving fiancé Nadine Cervantes and her children, Fernando, Orlando, and Jessica Cervantes.
Beto enjoyed spending time outdoors with family and friends. He was always the life of the party and will be dearly missed by his children, family, and all his dear friends.
“Until we meet you again, Dad”
At The INN Between, we knew Beto as “Roberto Garza.” He and Nadine came to The INN Between on November 6, 2015. Roberto always tried to say something funny to make the other residents, staff and volunteers smile. He and Kim Correa, Executive Director, enjoyed telling jokes to each other in Spanish. Matilda Lindgren, Program Manager, was able to help reunite Roberto with his family prior to his death. It was our privilege to be Roberto’s final home and to ensure that he was safe, comfortable and surrounded by loved ones during his final days.
The public is invited to attend a memorial service for Roberto on Friday, May 6, 2016, 2:00 pm, at The INN Between, 340 S. Goshen (1040 West), Salt Lake City, Utah. The family wishes to give special thanks to the Fourth Street Clinic, The INN Between and Intermountain Healthcare Home Care and Hospice for all their help in caring for Beto, and requests that donations be made to these agencies in lieu of flowers.
