Casey Manning (right) with his mother Kelly and dog Kola

Casey was our third resident. He was only with us for a week, but he will forever hold a special place in our hearts. Casey was the first person to experience the end of life with dignity at The INN Between, and we held our first memorial service in his honor.

This tribute was written by his family members -

Our sweet son and brother Casey Manning passed away Monday September 7th in the morning following a year long battle with acute leukemia. He was 32. He is survived by his parents Kelly May and Tim Manning, and his sisters Amie (Aaron) Putnam, Kristy (Jeremy) Pearson, and Katie (Jake) Bench. He was also the loving uncle of eight nephews and he liked very much that his sisters had boys after growing up with only sisters! Casey had come home to Utah where he had grown up to receive cancer treatment after living in Hawaii for several years. He loved the ocean, his family, and his amazing dog Kola, who was more his fur-daughter than his dog. A celebration of Casey's life will be held at the Inn Between in Salt Lake City on Sunday September 13th at 3:00pm and a tree in his memory will be planted in the garden. Casey's family would like to thank the Inn Between for providing a haven for him so that his last weeks on this earth he felt at home and at peace.
