Charlene Steelman

Late in the evening on a night in November of 2016 I received a call from a woman in Montana. She was hoping to find a place to stay in Salt Lake City so she could attempt to start treatment for her cancer.  She called us to ask if we had a place for her. Char arrived a week later, driving herself from Montana, in a snowstorm and minus an eye she lost to cancer.  She had been staying with us a week before she was told she could not continue her trial at Huntsman and had to return to Montana. She hated to leave and there were a lot of tears. I promised her we would welcome her back with open arms if she ever needed us. Char kept in touch and in June of last year called and yelled, “I’m coming home!”  We were blessed to have Char with us for 10 months. Char passed away peacefully on April 5th after a truly valiant fight.  You are welcome to attend the memorial service in honor of Charlene on Monday, April 30th at 11:00 am. We will be serving Char’s favorite, root beer floats, and a light lunch. A full obituary will be forthcoming.
