Robert Clay Burr

Robert was born on June 25 1962 in Provo, Utah, where grew up. He passed away on December 26, 2016 at The INN Between.  Robert leaves behind his daughter Amanda Star Burr and brother and two grandchildren. Amanda said, “If it wasn't for all the support The INN Between gave my Dad, who knows where he would have ended up. I know he appreciated The INN Between so much, and he wished he could have gotten more done around the house. Thank you to the INN Between staff, volunteers and residents - you guys were my Dad’s family and his home.”

Robert was referred to The INN Between twice in 2015, but didn’t show up. He finally arrived on January 28, 2016 and holds the record as the resident with the longest stay. He was a very independent man who liked doing things in his own way, on his terms and in his own time. He had a gruff demeanor, but once you got past that he was an absolute pleasure! It wasn’t long before he made friends with his fellow residents. One of his longtime friends moved into The INN Between as well, and the two were able to reconnect before his friend’s death.

Robert loved to ride his bike and logged quite a few miles during his stay. He loved his family and made trips to Provo to see them when his health permitted. Robert took great pride in his new home - The INN Between – and could often be found painting, sanding or repairing things. His final project was to sand and refinish the benches in our Memorial Garden, assisting an Eagle Scout project.

Robert’s family will miss him more than he could ever know. Robert was popular among our volunteers and his loss has been deeply felt in our household. He will also be missed by his nurses, Lacie and Julie, from Intermountain Healthcare Hospice.

A celebration of life for Robert will be held on Friday, February 3, 2017 at 4:00 pm at The INN Between, followed by a complimentary dinner.

“Just asking our father to guide us in the right path until we meet our loved ones again in heaven”
