Brad Dahl

We honor the life and peaceful passing of Brad, who left us this fall at the age of 46. Brad was born in 1979 in Boise, Idaho, and later moved to Utah after the tragic loss of his mother.—he always felt that she lived on through his daughter, Cynthia, who proudly carries her name and her striking resemblance.

Brad’s pride and joy was his daughter, now a high school junior, ambitiously working toward her associate’s degree. He loved sharing memories of her growing up—decorating pumpkins and Valentine boxes together, and bringing cupcakes to her school with one extra for the teacher. These moments were treasures he carried with him.

Brad spent much of his life in Sandy and built a solid career in the construction industry. He was open about his terminal cancer diagnosis, sharing that he had initially mistaken the symptoms as part of “getting older.” When he learned that the pain he’d been experiencing was prostate cancer that had spread to his organs and spine, he faced the news with honesty, courage, and relief in knowing it wasn’t caused by any past self-blame.

A lifelong Star Wars fan, Brad could quote the films by heart. He shared with us his hope to hold on long enough to celebrate one more Christmas—his favorite holiday—filled with memories of visiting his grandparents, playing games, and listening to his grandfather play the organ.

Brad passed away peacefully, surrounded by compassionate care. His family attended our candlelighting and butterfly ceremony, where they expressed deep gratitude for hearing stories about Brad’s final days and the comfort he found here at The INN Between.

Brad, thank you for your openness, your strength, and the love you carried for your daughter. May you rest in peace, reunited with your family, and forever remembered. 🦋
