Dennis Phelps

After spending just over six months with us at The INN Between, we sadly say goodbye to Dennis, a 73-year-old amputee who found solace and professional hospice care within our walls. Dennis's journey with us was marked by warmth, resilience, and the deep connections he cherished.

Since coming to The INN Between, Dennis reconnected with his two sons, who live in Washington and Iowa, and often spoke of the joy he found in these renewed relationships. His best friend Mark was more than a friend—he was family, a brother in every sense. Dennis and Mark shared a special bond, having worked together at Zwick Construction for nearly two decades, building memories as well as structures.

Dennis frequently expressed how much he appreciated the care he received here, noting that he never felt as comfortable anywhere else. Perhaps it was the extra care, the compassion of our staff, or even the two milks he looked forward to with dinner that made this place truly feel like home for him.

Dennis, your gratitude and kind spirit left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing you. Rest in peace, knowing you were surrounded by love and care. You will be deeply missed but always remembered.

To support our mission of providing comfort and dignity at the end of life, please consider donating to The INN Between. Every contribution helps us continue to offer exceptional care to those in need.
