March 28, 1961 to May 3, 2017
John loved going fishing, riding his motorcycle, listening to music and playing his guitar. He loved his family very much and would have done anything to protect them. John had a tough exterior but was a kind soul with a heart of gold. He was blessed with several lifelong friends who were like family to him and his family. John’s true joy in life was his daughter, Tasha King. The bond between John and Tasha was unbreakable and is the true definition of unconditional love.
John is survived by his siblings Viki Lynn (Gary) Sullenberger, Kelly Ann May, James Scott and Christopher Jeffery and his daughter Tasha King (Armando). John is preceded in death by his father, Parley James King, mother Myrna King, brother Scott King and nephew Casey Manning (who also passed away at The INN Between). John’s family and friends will cherish his memory and pass him their love as he continues his next journey.
The family wishes to thank Intermountain Hospice and The INN Between's family of staff and volunteers for their loving and compassionate care.
John passed away at the age of 56. He lived at The INN Between twice, for a total of 47 days. His first stay was for 30 days to ensure that a wound healed properly. He was very pleasant to have around, and we were very sad to see him leave. Sadly, he later returned under hospice care and spent 17 days with us before passing away. John said it was bittersweet, coming back to a place he loved but knowing it would be at the end of his life. It was our privilege to welcome John into our home and our family.
A memorial for John will be held on Thursday May 11, 2017 at 5:00 pm at The INN Between, 340 Goshen St, Salt Lake City, UT 84104. A complimentary meal will be served following the ceremony.
To my Dad:
A man who can never be replaced. The best dad a girl could ever have. My hero. My best friend. My ride or die.
Love,
Tasha
